Starting the new year off right.

It’s been… a difficult few years, for everyone. 2020 seemed to start a year of depression, anxiety, fear in all new levels. People are harsh with each other. Grace and forgiveness seem to have become a distant past time. People are scared of each other and rude, blindly hating what they don’t understand. Division last year in 2021 was at an all time high. Did we forget who our brothers and sisters are? Bonds and best friends of a lifetime being broken. Families ripped apart based on beliefs, opinions, stances; you cant seem to have a free thinking thought without someone eager to lash out on how inappropriate it is and oppression, oh the oppression of voices on all sides. It’s hurtful, its harmful, it will eventually break to a level it can not be repaired if we choose to let this continue.

So this article is different. This article is a plea. A plea to be kind to one another. I plea to spread goodness. A plea to shed light and love and hope among your people. What do I mean by that? You have your people. I have mine. The people in our lives, past, present, and future. The people you encounter. Every day is a gift and an opportunity to make a difference. Be the change you want to see in the world. I recently learned these famous words were not actually Gandhi. No what he said was much more profound.

“If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change”

Random acts of kindness.

Open a door for someone with a smile.

Take a breath before you speak when someone has wronged you.

Be pleasant. Be a person you would want to be around.

Say ‘I love you’.

It all starts in the mirror, it all starts with you.

From the bottom of my heart, because I genuinely know this can make a difference, thank you.
