Most of us don’t have the luxury of cracking open a coconut ourselves so we rely on store bought options. Coconut water is packed with hydrating properties, naturally. It also has a boost of magnesium for which the body utilizes in most of its internal systems. This is why people feel great when they drink coconut water regularly. However, if you’re not used to its wholesome flavor it can be a little hard to keep reaching back for it.
1: Look at the brand. Trainer In PINK did a blind taste test last year, the results won in Vita Coco’s favor but feel free to check out the full results here. I drink coconut water straight up when I’m in the mood for something cold and refreshing. Those of you that know me, know that I typically don’t like cold beverages. This brings me to number
2: Drink it cold! If you’re going to drink coconut water and enjoy it on any level it can NOT be warm, YUCK!
3: Buy it by the case. Coconut water can get a little pricey if you’re always buying it in single servings or a 4pk. Costco and Sam’s sells it by the case.
4: Find what makes it yummy and convenient for you!
Here are 3 things that I do with coconut water to mix it up and enjoy it every time!
– Add Cinnamon to it. Makes it taste like liquid desert.
– Use it to mix your protein power. The slight sweetness of the coconut water makes it taste complete. You know how most protein powders tastes really gross when you drink them with plain water. I use Garden of Life. Its gluten free, dairy free, soy free, vegan, all that good stuff and without the additives and sugars.
– Blend your fruit drinks with it. Pineapple, mango, and watermelon go well with it. Ill add to the list as I keep playing with my Ninja.
